CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Technology
Instructor: Amy Pietrowski GPA: 4.0 This course was the first of three classes in the Educational Technology Certificate program. Throughout this course a variety of web 2.0 resources were explored including: Twitter, Google Applications, blogging, and social bookmarking tools. A focus was placed on using technology in ways to enhance the educational experience for both students and teachers. The culminating project was a group presentation on using iPads for literacy instruction. |
CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technologies to Education Instructor: Tammy Maginity GPA: 4.0 In the second Educational Technology Certificate course, educational technology tools were examined through the lens of reaching all students to the furthest extent. Lesson plans were examined for ease of use among diverse learners. A standalone interactive 5th grade lesson was created on triangle geometry. |

CEP 812: Applying Educational Technology to Practice
Instructor: Susan Wright GPA: 4.0 As the final course in the Educational Technology Certificate program, this class spent time working collaboratively with classmates to create a presentation on a technology, designed to be shared with fellow teachers. A current issue within my own classrooms was also examined, and a solution presented focusing on the TPACK model (Technology, Pedagogy, Content, and Knowledge). |

CEP 815: Technology and Leadership
Instructor: Nick Sheltrown GPA: 4.0 As the title of this course suggests, this class examines ways of being an effective leader in a technology field. Various models of leadership were examined as well as a close examination of instrumental and missional thinking when bringing new technology into the classroom. Issues covered in this course included class size, community engagement, and surveys of technology needs. |

CEP 816: Teaching and Learning Across Curriculum
Instructor: Rand Spiro GPA: 4.0 This course took an exploratory approach to ways technology can be used in the classroom. A deep-learning search was done on the topic of the power of networks. In addition, a variety of current technology tools were examined and discussed as to ways for practical application in the classroom including blogging, social media, webpages, online readers, mobile technology, and more. |

CEP 800: Psychology of Learning in School and Other Settings
Instructor: Danah Henriksen GPA: 4.0 How, and what, we learn were the focus for this course. Several learning theories such as behaviorism and social construct were examined. Discussion of personal learning experiences were also used to think about teaching practices. Digital storytelling was used to share and reflect on learning. |

CEP 820: Teaching K-12 Students Online
Instructors: Leigh Wolf, Sean Leahy, Andrea Zellner, April Niemela GPA: 4.0 This class centered around creating a fully-functioning online course for K-12 students. As the course progressed, elements of online teaching such as assessment, design, and collaboration were discussed. An online module on geometry designed for fifth grade students was created during the course of this class. |

CEP 807: Capstone in Educational Technology
Instructor: Matthew Koehler To culminate the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program, this online portfolio was created. Projects done throughout the MAET program were gathered, reflected on, and presented in an interactive online format. Reflection and collaboration on the process were major elements of the course. |

TE 845: Language Diversity and Literacy Instruction and Assessment
Instructor: Patricia Edwards Best practices and strategies for reaching ELLs were the focus of this course. We read a variety of texts on the topic and utilized class discussions to reflect on the text, and ways to incorporate strategies in our own classes. In addition, we researched our own language heritage, considering the origins of our dialects. As a final project, I attended a music class for refugee students and discussed the different strategies I observed. |
CEP 822: Approaches to Educational Research
Instructors: E. Wong, Y. Lee, T. Lit This course explores current educational research. Data was examined closely, utilizing Microsoft Excel to calculate correlations and create graphs of information. In addition, research was reviewed on a topic of our choice. By the end of the course, I will have completed a research review examining Charter Schools and their success compared to traditional schools. |
